About the effects of the entry on the Romanian market of new legal offices

Florian Nitu, Managing Partner of the Popovici & Asociatii legal office: "The entry of a global company of integrated services definitely results in the increase and diversification of the competition for projects on the entire market. The entry of a local company affects mainly the competition within the respective branch and, in the worst scenario, some channels for the clientele development for some actors on the market, with no general effect. In the first case, the market effects may be immediate, whereas in the second one, they may develop on a longer period of time."

Daniel Badea, Managing Partner of the Badea Clifford Chance law firm: "The Romanian market is very dynamic. There is enough space both for large companies, as well as other Romanian firms. There will definitely be some pressure regarding the salaries for six months or a year, but the existence of a large firm on the market will increase the training capacity and, therefore, the number of competent lawyers. Once a year lawyers decide to leave our firm. They come and they go. And we recruit lawyers from other offices."
